Here we take an heirloom dress to create something new. This could be as little as altering the neckline, to taking the entire dress apart to just use components.

Below is an example of the process. Thank you for your interest in working with me to create a very important keepsake.

CONSULTATION (aprrox. 90 min.)

Typically before meeting with Sheila, you are requested to follow us on Pinterest and pin dresses that you like. We like to do this so that Sheila has insight on what you are looking for in a dream dress.

$300 deposit would have been made to hold your appointment which is applied to your balance. A quote will be given before your Consultation.

At this appointment we will take your measurements, discuss design and fabric ideas.

50% deposit will be due at the time of this appointment (unless a payment arrangement has been made).

SAMPLE FITTING (approx. 90 min.)

You will try on the sample, which is a muslin unbleached fabric. Your garment will be pinned and have markings on the fabric. This will ensure a perfect fit. You will also finalize fabric selection.

Please bring your shoes and foundation garments to this fitting.

*A second sample fitting will be scheduled if adjustments and changes have been made. (Please note there will be an additional sample cost and $50 fitting fee.)

*You may also try on the heirloom dress if adjustments have been made, like removal of the sleeve, placing the skirt onto a new bodice. We do not cut into the dress immediately and make the sample muslin to ensure a perfect fit for any patterns that we have created. (Your dress will have been cleaned to remove stains and brighten the fabric if it has yellowed over time.)

FIRST FITTING (aprrox. 90 min.)

You will try on the shell of your garment without zipper and finishings such as hem applique, and beading. No changes can be made after this appointment regarding fabric selections and style of dress or additional fees will be invoiced to you.

Please bring your shoes and foundation garments to this fitting.

SECOND FITTING (approx. 90 min.)

You will try on your dress 80% complete. At this appointment we mark bustle. The zipper may not be in. If you require another fitting, additional fees will be invoiced to you before proceeding.

Please bring your shoes and foundation garments to this fitting.

*A third fitting may be scheduled after this fitting, with an additional $50 fitting fee.

FINAL FITTING (approx. 90 min.)

You may have the opportunity to take the dress with you after this appointment.

This is a final fitting for you to see the entire look. We will press the garment after you try on the dress.

PICKUP (aprrox. 30 min.)

If nothing has changed from the Final Fitting, you will pickup the dress without trying on and sign a document releasing the dress from our possession.

Final Payment  of the remaining balance is made.
